UPDATE, 12:08: Ump Larry Vanover is not working today's #Rays-#Tigers game due to personal matter. Joe West is coming in to replace him, but may not make it by first pitch. If not, game will start with three umps. Either way, Angel Marquez will have plate and be crew chief.

UPDATE, 12:02: Here's an eye-catching stat from Elias about the Rays. Until Wednesday, they had not won any of their previous 102 games in which they trailed in the ninth inning or later, going back to an Oct. 3, 2015 win over Toronto.

UPDATE, 11:55: Still no Tigers lineup as they are waiting to see if LF Justin Upton (wrist) can play. They go have Alex Avila at 1B and Miguel Cabrera at DH with Victor Martinez at DH. ... SS Jose Iglesias is out and may be headed to the DL with concussion-type symptoms as a reult of his collision with Brad Miller on the odd final play of Wednesday's game when he tripped over second base trying to turn a double play. ... Ausmus praised Rays 3B Evan Longoria for his savvy play in letting JaCoby Jones' sixth-inning bunt drop and turning it into a double play. ... Ausmus repeated his claim that a fan yelling "I got it" is what led to his outfielders' confusion on a key play Wednesday: "The acoustics helped ... and the fact that there were not a huge number of people sitting in stands.'' Ausmus also said, "I'm not blaming the fan, he's within his rights. We have to make the adjustment.''

DEVELOPING: It's a quick turnaround for the Rays today after Wednesday's wild, walkoff win as they face the Tigers in a matinee finale to the series, first pitch at 1:10.

Evan Longoria will be at DH for the second time in the last week, with rookie Daniel Robertson getting the start at 3B as they face lefty Daniel Norris.

RHP Erasmo Ramirez will be on the mound for the Rays, filling in for injured starter RHP Jake Odorizzi. Ramirez, who worked four innings of solid relief on Saturday when Odorizzi left with a hamstring strain, will be on a limit of about 75 pitches.
