For starters, Rays vs. Blue Jays
Update 11:09 a.m. RHP Juan Carlos-Oviedo acknowledged today that he likely won't be ready to start the season because he arrived in spring training so late due to visa delays.
But Oviedo said he's feeling better and closer everday, and it shouldn't be too long before he's ready. Oviedo said he could pitch in his first big-league exhibition Sunday. He said it's been frustrating to have to wait so long, but understands the situation.
Developing: The Rays reported late this morning coming off a night game, and will face the Blue Jays today at Charlotte Sports Park.
Veteran LHP Erik Bedard is making his final audition for the fifth starter spot, with the decision coming Saturday. LHP Cesar Ramos was sharp Thursday night, and RHP Jake Odorizzi was okay, setting up what could be an interesting call.
Ace LHP David Price will throw in a simulated game this morning at 11 a.m. on a back field.
RHP Heath Bell and Joel Peralta are scheduled to pitch in today's game after Bedard.
In injury news, OF Matt Joyce (stiff neck) said he's feeling better. The hope is he returns to the lineup by Saturday.
Will be posting live updates from the game on Twitter @TBTimes_JSmith.
