For starters, Rays vs. Brewers
UPDATE, 5:23: OF Wil Myers (wrist) said the Rays will likely figure out the schedule for his return Friday and that he'll take batting practice the next day. Myers, the 2013 AL Rookie of the Year, has been out with a right wrist fracture since late May.
C Ryan Hanigan (oblique) felt sore after taking batting practice today. Manager Joe Maddon said he'll take a few days off. Hanigan had been penciled in for a rehab assignment Wednesday for Class A Charlotte.
OF David DeJesus is no longer wearing the brace to protect his broken left hand and said he needs to strengthen it before taking swings again.
DEVELOPING: The Rays are vying for their 11th win in their last 12 games when they take the field tonight in the second game of a three-game series against Milwaukee at Tropicana Field.
RHP Alex Cobb (6-6, 3.76) will start for the Rays. RHP Matt Garza (7-7, 3.87) will start for the Brewers in his second game at Tropicana Field since leaving the Rays. He lost his previous outing, for Texas last year.
C Ryan Hanigan is taking batting practice before the game for the second day in a row. He’s expected to begin his reassignment tomorrow for the Class A Stone Crabs and could rejoin the Rays as soon as Friday.
