For starters: Rays vs. Dodgers, looking to get rolling

Drew Smyly will be on the mound for the Rays.

WILL VRAGOVIC | Times

Drew Smyly will be on the mound for the Rays.

UPDATE, 5:54:  After the Rays originally posted that they were starting LHP Matt Moore on Sunday, but now say it is TBD. Since they need a fifth starter at some point on this trip that could mean they are considering dropping in Erasmo Ramirez or Matt Andriese on Sunday vs. the Angels. .... LHP Blake Snell started Wednesday, so if he is the call-up they would have to wait until Monday.

UPDATE, 5:48: The Rays are sticking with several of their struggling hitters, with Cash saying he specifically is starting Dickerson against a lefty since it may get him locked in more. Kiermaier is not in the lineup.

Rays lineup:
Forsythe 2b
Guyer cf
Longoria 3b
Pearce 1b
Souza rf
Dickerson dh
Beckham ss
Casali c
Smyly p

Dodgers lineup:
Hernandez lf
Puig rf
Gonzalez 1b
Turner dh
Kendrick 2b
Thompson cf
Grandal c
Seager ss
Culberson 3b
Wood p

DEVELOPING: After losing for the fourth time in their last five games on Tuesday, the Rays are looking to split their two-game series with the Dodgers tonight when they play at 7:10.

LHP Drew Smyly will be on the mound for the Rays, LHP Alex Wood for the Dodgers.

Smyly is coming off a frustrating Friday loss, allowing only two hits - but both homers - to the Jays. He is winless in three home starts with a 4,12 ERA.
