DEVELOPING: The Rays get back in action tonight against the defending World Series champion Giants, with red-hot Chris Archer on the mound.

Archer, the rookie right-hander, is coming off a 4-0, 0.73 July.

The Giants are starting their most consistent pitcher, lefty Madison Bumgarner.

The Rays are coming off a remarkable 21-5 July that was the best month in team history, and the third best-ever July in the majors, going back to 1921 anyway.

Rookie OF Wil Myers is on a 12-game hitting streak, and has an MLB-best .447 average since the All-Star break.

The Rays have not lost back to back games since June 26-28.

One note for tonight, Todd Kalas will be in the booth with Dewayne Staats as Brian Anderson is off this series. Barry LeBrock and Kelly Nash will be on the scene for Sun Sports as well.
