For starters, Rays vs. Indians
UPDATE, 5:56: Maddon said Escobar came in and said his thumb was fine so he is back in the lineup. And Maddon said he wanted to stick with DeJesus in the leadoff spot based on how well he is hitting.
RHP Alex Cobb said he felt good today the day after his simulated game, and will throw another one on Monday with the possibility of a rehab start on Saturday.
And RHP Jeremy Hellickson said his Saturday bullpen session went well, as he threw 40 fastballs and changeups.
DEVELOPING: The Rays are looking to break a four-game overall losing streak, and six straight at home, when they take on the Indians tonight at the Trop.
LHP Erik Bedard, coming off a solid outing in New York, will be on the mound for the Rays against Indians RHP Zach McAllister.
The first four losses on the homestand - three to Baltimore and one to Cleveland - have been the product of several flaws, including short starts and ineffective relief work. But a lack of offense has been a big part as well, as the Rays have scored 10 runs total in the four games and are just 6-for-35 (.171) with runners in scoring position.
The six game home losing streak - going back to the last two games vs. Minnesota on April 23-24, matches their longest in more than 10 years. The last longer such streak in season was when they lost nine in a row during their 106-loss '02 campaign.
