He said this is a similar to what bothered him in Arizona last week and he was able to to return the next day. ... DEVELOPING: After staying up late for Wednesday's 13-inning walkoff win, the Rays are back at it early today seeking a series sweep of the Mariners in a 1:10 start.
Touted prospect LHP Blake Snell will be on the mound for the Rays, making his second big-league start overall and first since his recall.
The Rays have to make room on the roster to add Snell, with the possibility of OF Steven Souza Jr. going to the DL.
The Rays are also monitoring the status of 3B Evan Longoria, who left Wednesday's game with left forearm soreness.
The Mariners are starting LHP James Paxton.
