DEVELOPING: Having lost nine straight games and assumed the worst record in the majors at 23-37, the Rays will try, again, to stop their slide in a 4:10 game against the Marlins.

The Rays will send RHP Jake Odorizzi to the mound against Miami's Jacob Turner.

There will be a moment of silence before the game - at 3:57 - in honor of senior adviser Don Zimmer, who died Wednesday night at age 83.

While the Rays showed some signs of offense Wednesday - their three first-inning runs were more than their total from the last four games - they couldn't hold the lead.
