Update 5:51 p.m. The big news today is that the Rays and SS Yunel Escobar agreed to a two-year extension, which guarantees him $13 million, and covers 2015 and 2016 with a club option for 2017.

Escobar will make $5 million next season, $7 million in 2016 and $7 million in 2017 (or a $1 million buyout).

The Rangers will throw RHP Nick Martinez, who is making his MLB debut.

RF Wil Myers will receive his 2013 AL Rookie of the Year award in a pre-game ceremony, and the first 20,000 fans will receive a commemorative Myers bobblehead.
