UPDATE, 11:21: It could be a good day for fans in the outfield seats as Kennedy has allowed a majors-most 26 home runs, and Smyly isn't far behind with 22. ... Big night in Port Charlotte tonight as RHP Alex Cobb (Tommy John surgery) makes his fourth rehab start, and second since his return to game action, while newly acquired SS Matt Duffy (Achilles strain) makes his Rays debut and OF Mikie Mahtook (left hand fracture) continues his work back as the DH. ... In Baseball America's annual Best Tools issue, Kevin Kiermaier was voted the second best defensive outfielder in the AL by league managers and Duffy the 3rd best defensive 3B.
UPDATE, 11:16: No pre-game interview with Cash on home day games, so no insight into the lineup, but he did say Wednesday that Shaffer would get to play some 1B. Could be the Rays want to look at him now since once Miller does move over he will get the bulk of the playing time.
Royals DH Kendrys Morales was suspended one game for his ejection and actions afterward on Tuesday, but has appealed so he is in the lineup today.
