For starters: Rays vs. Tigers, with Souza back

UPDATE, 2:50: Cash said there has been "progress" with OF Desmond Jennings tight hamstring but no set date for him to return to action. .. Cash said the decision to send down Motter on Friday came down to keeping Nick Franklin, whom they are using in the OF now and like his ability to switch-hit.

DEVELOPING: After yet another rough loss on Friday, their 14th in the last 16 games, the Rays take on the Tigers again this afternoon, first pitch at 4:10.

OF Steven Souza Jr. is back in the lineup after a one-game rehab assignment to show he is over his left hip strain, batting sixth and playing right.

Newcomer Osawaldo Arcia shifted to left, with Brandon Guyer in center as Desmond Jennings remains sidelined with tightness in his left hamstring.

Rookie LHP Blake Snell, who got his first major-league win on Monday, is on the mound for the Rays. Veteran RHP Justin Verlander is starting for the Tigers and that means his celebrity fiancee, model Kate Upton, may be in the stands.

Tigers star Miguel Cabrera is not in the lineup, getting a day off today.
