UPDATE, 5:45: Maddon said of dropping Joyce down and moving Scott up: "This is the time to take a little bit of heat off (Joyce) and put a little bit more heat on Luke. ... Maddon said he hadn't heard anything from MLB yet but believes LHP Matt Moore has a good chance to be named to the AL All-Star team as a replacement. ... Maddon said he'll watch cF Desmond Jennigs closely but given how well he's going won't necessarily rest him before the break.

DEVELOPING: After sweeping a three-game weekend series from the White Sox, the Rays tonight open a four-game series with the Twins.

RHP Roberto Hernandez, coming off a pair of "quality' starts but also on a four-game losing streak, starts for the Rays.

The Twins are starting RHP Samuel Deduno, a key pitcher on the Dominican Republic's WBC-winning team.

The Rays have won eight of their last nine to climb to a season-high nine games over .500 and move into a tie for second place, the first time since April 8 they have been higher than third.
