For starters: Rays vs. Yankees, Price vs. Sabathia IX
UPDATE, 5:50: The Rays have Wil Myers at DH for the fifth time in his last eight games, and both Myers and Maddon say there are no issues, just a matter of getting him off his feet as he plays into September for the first time. .., Matt Moore said his simulated game went very well and he thinks he could return to the rotation as soon as Thursday, but Maddon said it likely won't be after Sept. 1. ... Maddon said the Rays were close to naming a starter for Tuesday; with Jake Odorizzi pitching for Durham tonight it would seem they don't have any other choices but Roberto Hernandez, who worked a 9-pitch inning in relief Friday and threw a bullpen session today.
DEVELOPING: The Rays start the day atop the American League East, by percentage points anyway, and look to stay there with ace David Price on the mound against the Yankees.
Tonight will be the ninth time Price and Yankees LHP CC Sabathia have squared off, and it's been quite a one-sided competition, as Price is 5-1, 2.35 in the games and the Rays have won 7 of 8.
The Rays have won 7 of their last 9 to get back to the top with the Red Sox, and the Yankees had won 10 of 12 coming in.
The Rays won Friday's game 10-2, hitting four home runs and getting a strong start from rookie Chris Archer.
Rookie OF Wil Myers sat out Friday's game but is expected back in the lineup tonight.
Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez was booed often during Friday's game, and with a large crowd is expected at the Trop tonight, it could be loud again.
Lineups when available.
Just a reminder, the game is on 1250 AM radio tonight not the usual 620 AM.
