UPDATE, 2:45
: The Rays have invited new Buc Darrelle Revis to throw out a first pitch before tonight's game.

DEVELOPING: After their sweep of the A's, the Rays face another challenge tonight in opening a three-game series with the Yankees, who have ace LHP CC Sabathia on the mound.

The Rays played their best overall baseball of the young season in beating the A's three straight, getting a combination of solid pitching, good defense and, most of all, some consistent offense.

Tonight they will send LHP Matt Moore, who is 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA, to the mound against a Yankees team that has filled in well for the injury absences of stars Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson, Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez.

Rays 3B Evan Longoria has reached base in all 18 games this season, and has a streak of 32 overall going back to last September.

The Rays are taking the field early today so their pitchers can get in a full batting practice since they have to hit next weekend in Colorado.

Lineups shortly.
