Geltz sent back to Durham after givng up another homer
Struggling RHP Steve Geltz was sent back to Triple-A Durham after Friday's game in which he allowed his 10th homer of the season.
Geltz has worked 20 innings over 21 games and allowed 18 hits, 10 of which have been home runs.
"It's like every time I make a mistake this year, it's hit out,'' Geltz said. "I don't know what exactly to pinpoint it on.''
After rejoining the Rays on Friday, he had two relatively clean outings then allowed two homers on Wednesday and one Friday in the eighth inning to Manny Machado.
"He's staying positive,'' manager Kevin Cash said. "It's a little unexplainable what's going on right now. We continue to support him and have to get him right.''
The Rays used the roster spot to make room for newly acquired OF Oswaldo Arcia.
