Kevin Kiermaier ranks ninth in MLB Network's latest ranking based on defensive and offensive metrics and projections.

Rays CF Kevin Kiermaier is generally regarded among the best in the game, but in MLB Network's latest ranking based on defensive and offensive metrics and projections, he ranked only ninth.

New Rays C Wilson Ramos, who is expected to be sidelined into the summer as he recovers from knee surgery, was ranked fourth best among catchers.

The rankings, per MLB Network, are determined by "taking into account player performance over several seasons with an emphasis on 2016, a number of offensive and defensive metrics both advanced and traditional, and projected performance for the upcoming season.''

The CFs ahead of Kiermaier were:

1. Mike Trout, Angels
2. Christian Yelich, Marlins
3. George Springer, Astros
4. Jackie Bradley Jr., Red Sox
5. A.J. Pollock, Diamondbacks
6. Adam Eaton, Nationals
7. Lorenzo Cain, Royals
8. Charlie Blackmon, Rockies
9. KEVIN KIERMAIER, Rays
10. Dexter Fowler, Cardinals
