Live from Port Charlotte, Day 10 (closed workout)
UPDATE, 12:43: Maddon said he had not talked directly with 3B Evan Longoria but expects to see him back in camp this weekend; Longoria left Tuesday night to be with his girlfriend, who delivered their daughter on Wednesday night. Maddon said he was not concerned when Longoria returned.
Also, Maddon got his first good look at prospect Wil Myers take batting practice and was impressed, saying the team will have him focus during the spring on baserunning and defense in left- and right-field. Also Luke Scott was impressive in throwing during outfield drills and Maddon said they will give the usual DH some time in the outfield during the season.
Maddon said there was no major reason for the change in Saturday starting pitchers from Enny Romero to Alex Colome in the road game vs. Boston. though it would seem one benefit of having Romero instead pitch in the home game vs. Pittsburgh is that Maddon and team officials will get to see him.
DEVELOPING: The Rays have their final workout before the start of the exhibition season, an abbreviated sesson that will be held on the stadium field and not open to the public.

Roberto Hernandez will start the home game, followed by Jeff Niemann, Marquis Fleming, Fernando Rodney, Alex Colome Enny Romero, J.D. Martin and Adam Liberatore.
Prospect Enny Romero Alex Colome will start against the Red Sox, followed by Mike Montgomery, Brandon Gomes, Josh Lueke, Felipe Rivero, Matt Buschmann and Neil Schenk.
