Live from Port Charlotte: Day Four

The Rays are having an abbreviated workout for pitchers and catchers this morning in Port Charlotte as the players and staff are all headed to the Trop for today's FanFest.

There were a few developments this morning:

* RHP Dane De La Rosa reported, saying he was held up a few days waiting to work out details of having his car and belongings shipped to Florida after being in limbo until finding out Monday night he had cleared waivers.

* OF/1B Shelley Duncan reported saying he was excited to join the Rays - and doesn't think much about his role in team history from being on the Yankees side of oen of the 2008 spring training dust-ups. He is on a minor-league contract here.

* Duncan's arrival leaves SS Yunel Escobar, DH Luke Scott and minor-league INF Hak-Ju Lee as the only players who did not report early. The first full-squad workout is Sunday.

* RHP Joel Peralta said he has not yet spoken with Dominican officials but still is leaning toward withdrawing from the WBC. His stiff neck is feeling better, and he planned to play long toss today with the possibility of throwing his first bullpen session on Sunday.
