Maddon ejected after 5th-inning call

Rays manager Joe Maddon was ejected from Wednesday's game after arguing a call at second base.

Kelly Johnson was called out trying to steal after C Matt Wieters double-pumped on his throw and Johnson appeared to slide in safely.

This was the fourth prominent call to go against the Rays in the first two weeks of the seaaon, and Maddon apparently had enough. He bee-lined it to 2B ump Brian Knight and didn't have to say too much to get tossed, for the first time this season and 28th time as a Ray.

He then contined his commentary as 3B ump and crew chief Gerry Davis walked him off the field.
