Maddon on replay plan: A good start

Rays manager Joe Maddon told the Times today he welcomes the change and likes the concept:

"I am looking forward to our game taking this significant step in a technological direction. I am impressed with the efforts of Tony (La Russa), Joe (Torre), Mr. Schuerholz, Mr. Selig and others in hammering this first step in place. Not an easy task. So, now it's time to understand how this all inter-connects, and get used to implemetation. I expect some glitches, which shall be confronted, and fixed. Patience and cooperation will move our game forward."

Rays ace David Price said he liked the sound of it as well:

"If it doesn't slow the game down, then absolutely it can help get the correct calls, then sure, why not?"
