Rays packing today, talking tonight
With the the opening of spring training less than two weeks away, the sights and sounds of baseball are getting more common.
This afternoon, home clubhouse manager Chris Westmoreland and staff will load the equipment truck for the "trip" south - though it's only 74 miles from Tropicana Field to the Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte.
Tonight at 7, the weekly Countdown to Opening Day radio show debuts on 620-AM, with Andy Freed and Dave Wills hosting and executive VP Andrew Friedman and 3B Evan Longoria as the guests.
Pitchers and catchers report to Port Charlotte on Feb. 20 and workout for the first time Feb. 21. The full-squad will be on the field together for the first time Feb. 26.
