Ben Zobrist said he is to play three innings today against the Phillies.

UPDATE, 9:20 Zobrist said he is to play three innings today, and if all goes well will play again Wednesday and Saturday, sticking to home games in Port Charlotte to avoid any long bus or car rides to road games.

Forsythe said he is open to the opportunity to play first, and even has a new first baseman's glove, though it may not be broken in enough yet.

Wil Myers said, as his agent did on Sunday night, that he had no issue with having his contract renewed, understands it's part of the process, and is looking forward to the season.

DEVELOPING: Ben Zobrist will make his spring debut for the Rays today, sufficiently recovered from earlier back tightness and soreness to bat leadoff and play second base.

Also of note today, INF Logan Forsythe will play first base, an option the Rays want to explore to maximize the versatility of their bench. Forsythe said he has played first base informally, but not in a major-league setting.

Marc Topkin will have all of the action at @TBTimes_Rays on Twitter.
