Myers wins Players Choice rookie award
Rays outfielder Wil Myers was voted winner of the Players Choice award as the American League's Outstanding Rookie.
Rays righthander Chris Archer and Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias were the other finalists.
Myers, acquired in an off-season trade from Kansas City, was called up in mid-June, then hit .293 with 13 homers and 53 RBIs in 88 games.
"I'm honored to receive this award not only because it comes from the players but also because of the great players who have won it before me,'' Myers said. "I'm thankful to the Rays organization for their confidence in me."
