Ortiz says "everything's fine" with him and David Price
Red Sox slugger David Ortiz said he and Rays lefthander David Price spoke about the Cy Young Award winner's critical comments Saturday night, and that "everything's fine."
Price, who gave up seven runs in the Rays 7-4 loss to the Red Sox, appeared upset that Ortiz, after hitting his second solo homer in the eighth inning Saturday, stood and watched as it curled inside the rightfield foul pole. "As soon as he hit it, I saw it, I knew it was fair," Price said. "Run."
Ortiz wouldn't say Sunday who initiated the conversation, but said the two are on good terms and ready to move on.
"It's over," Ortiz said. "We talked and straightened things out. I have a lot of respect for David, and (he has) the same thing for me. I'm not going to make a big deal out of this, I understand his frustration. He's a good pitcher... When you don't see the result, you feel sometimes a little frustrated about it. But everything's fine."
