Rays ace LHP David Price worked five shutout innings against Baltimore's Class A squad on a back field in Port Charlotte today, allowing four singles, striking out six and walking none. He threw 60 pitches, 45 for strikes.

Price said the goal was simply to get his work in and throw strikes and he accomplished both.

"I was able to throw strikes and get a lot of ground balls and that was good,'' he said. "It's all about getting up and down right now, and we were able to do that five times with no issues. My legs feel good. My back, my arm all feel very good right now. That's the main key, and that's what we were able to accomplish today.''

On a five-day schedule leading to the April 2 opener, Price will pitch in a minor-league game again on Monday, when the Rays have their third day off of the spring.
