Price feels "normal" after playing catch
Rays LHP David Price was all smiles after his first throwing session since going on the DL May 16.
"It felt real good,' Price said. "It felt normal. It was a very positive day.''
Price - sidelined with a triceps strain - made about 35 throws with head athletic trainer Ron Porterfield over about 5 mins.
"To get out here playing catch and feeling as good as a I did, it's definitely a relief,'' Price said. "I didn't feel like I was going to have negative news at this point, but it's definitely good to have a positive.''
Price said how he feels Tuesday will determine his schedule, but he expects to play catch again either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Rays manager Porterfield was impressed with how well Price did.
He is eligible to come off the DL on Friday, but won't be ready. It may be mid- to late-June until he rejoins the rotation.
