Price gets a break from MLB, scoring change, lower ERA

Rays LHP David Price's day got off to a good start with word that the MLB scoring comittee reversed a change by the Coors Field official scoring, resulting in an error being charged to Rays SS Ben Zobrist for a play in Saturday's game and five earned runs coming off Price's record.

With the change, Price's ERA drops from 6.25 to 5.24.

Zobrist was originally charged with the error, then after the game the scorer changed it to a hit, saying he thought it Zobrist hadn't doubled-clutched getting the ball out of his glove - which is not an error - that Michael Cuddyer would have been safe even if Zobrist's throw hadn't bounced.
