Rays ace David Price acknowledged today he has been bothered by severe allergy issues since the spring.

Rays ace LHP David Price acknowledged today he has been bothered by severe allergy issues since the spring, the impact on his vision so severe that several times he had to step off the mound because he couldn't see the signs.

Price, who starts on Wednesday, had an alleragy test today - and more than 50 needle marks up and down his arms - and said part of the cause is the chemicals used in doing laundry at Tropicana Field. He would break out in a rash around his neck, face and arms.

Price got eye drops today, and also said his uniform and workout gear is now being washed separately and that's helped.

Manager Joe Maddon said he noticed that Price has severe prolems at times and said he looked like Will Smith in the movie, 'Hitch.'

Price said he wouldn't say the allergy issues were an issue for his troubles on the mound.
