3B Evan Longoria has been playing a big role in carrying the Rays of late.

And his efforts were noticed, as Monday he was named AL Player of the Week.

Over his last seven games, Longoria hit .464 with 5 homers, 9 RBIs and 7 runs, That included the series against Minnesota, where he became the first Rays player to homer in each game of a four-game series.

This is the seventh time Longoria has won AL weekly honors, though his first since May 2013.

Rays 1B Logan Morrison was also considered for the award.
