Rays beat Phils 3-1 on Vogt walkoff homer in 10th
The Rays walked off with a 3-1 victory over the Phillies on Friday when Stephen Vogt hit a two-run homer with two outs in the 10th inning.
"Fortune did favor the bald,'' manager Joe Maddon said.
Vogt went deep off lefty Jay Johnson to knock in Cole Figueroa, who extended the game with a two-out walk. Vogt was greeted at home plate by his teammates, then a few minutes later by his 17-month-old daughter Payton.
LHP Matt Moore went five innings for the Rays, still showing some issues with command and mechanics, but delivering his best outing of the spring.
Shelley Duncan had a long home run, over the leftfield boardwalk, his third of the spring.
The Rays are in Port Charlotte again on Saturday as they take on the Red Sox. Roberto Hernandez will be on the mound.
