Rays hold players-only meeting to talk about tightening defense
Rays players held a 15-minute players only meeting before Friday's game to talk about the need to tighten up their defense - physically and mentally - after seeing missed plays and misplays factor heavily in back to back defeats.
"It was good,'' 1B Logan Morrison said. "It was more like, we've been playing not great baseball and we've been able to win a lot of games and it's been really impressive, so keep it going and tighten it up a little bit on defense. That's all. That's it.''
Rays manager Kevin Cash said in his pre-game media session that they need to tighten up as well.
