Rays host FanFest at Trop on Saturday
After a quick morning workout in Port Charlotte, Rays players and staff are headed to Tropicana Field for Saturday's FanFest, open from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., with parking and admission free.
There are the usual assortment of baseball activities for kids, including speed pitch, batting cages and home run derby, plus the chance to run the bases and high-five Rays players. There are also stations where players will read to kids, call fans' friends and relatives and interact on social media, as well as baseball clinics and q-and-a sessions, featuring baseball operations president Matt Silverman, manager Kevin Cash and others, and a charity yard sale of memorabilia.
Former major-leaguers and some Rays players will sign autographs for kids; autograph passes for the bigger name players are sold out
