Rays Logan Forysthe leaves game after being hit by pitch
UPDATE, 11:46: The Rays says Forsythe has a bruised left shoulder, but also that he was going for precautionary X-rays.
DEVELOPING: Rays 2B Logan Forsythe left Monday's game after being hit on the back of the left shoulder by a Felix Hernandez pitch.
Forsythe, the Rays leading hitter, was batting in the third inning when he was hit, near the F on his nameplate. He took first, and moved up to second on a wild pitch. He headed on the field to take his position for the bottom of the inning but felt enough discomfort that he left the game, replaced by Tim Beckham.
Forsythe has been one of the Rays top performers this season, going into the game hitting .311 with four homers and 12 RBIs, and playing excellent defense.
