The Rays will be the guests of honor for another busy weekend in New York starting tonight, as the Yankees bid farewell tonight to Alex Rodriguez, then honor their 1996 World Series championship team on Saturday and add Mariano Rivera to Monument Park on Sunday.

But that's nothing new for the Rays, who have been present for quite a few Yankees events over the years, including:

• First game after the 9-11 attacks, Sept. 25, 2001.

• Derek Jeter tying Lou Gehrig for most hits by a Yankee, Sept. 10, 2009.

• First game following death of owner George Steinbrenner, July 16, 2010.

• Unveiling of Steinbrenner plaque in Monument Park, Sept. 21, 2010.

• Derek Jeter's 3,000th hit, July 9, 2011.

• Hideki Matsui's retirement ceremony, July 28, 2013.

• Mariano Rivera's last game, Sept. 26, 2013.

• Old-Timers Days in 2004, 2010, 2013.
