Rays set rotation, keeping order the same
Rays manager Joe Maddon set the rotation order to start the season, and there are no surprises.
Ace LHP David Price will be followed by RHP Alex Cobb, LHP Matt Moore, RHP Chris Archer and then RHP Jake Odorizzi.
It's been the same order they've gone by all spring, and after consideration, Maddon thought they'd just play it straight up. Either way, Maddon believes it's a rotation that not many teams look forward to facing, regardless of how they split it up.
In other pre-game news today:
*RF Wil Myers is not in the lineup tonight, but is okay, Maddon said, with him scheduled to start Friday in Lakeland. Myers got hit in the leg by a pitch last night, but is here in Sarasota hitting in the cage.
*There's nothing official from the team on the final bullpen spots, but Maddon indicated there won't be any changes from the outside, so it's likely that RHP Brandon Gomes and RHP Josh Lueke make the team. Looks like RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo, as expected, won't be ready to start the season.
