Rays single-game tickets on sale Feb. 10, flex packs available now
The Rays plan to put single-game tickets on sale to the general public starting Feb. 10 via raysbaseball.com.
But fans wanting tickets to the hottest dates on the schedule - the April 2 opener, the Sept. 19-20 visit by the world champion Cubs with Joe Maddon and Ben Zobrist, and the July and September weekend series with the Red Sox - are advised by chief business officer Jeff Cogen to buy flex packs this weekend.
"The savvy customer will buy a flex pack, which is five tickets for $75, and you get your pick of any game on the schedule before they are released to the general public,'' Cogen said.
Flex-pack holders will get to select their games next week. The Rays also will be holding pre-sales for season-ticket holders and corporate sponsors next week, so the inventory may be limited by the launch of public sales on Friday.
After the general sale on raysbaseball.com, the Rays on Feb. 13 will make tickets available at all outlets including stadium box offices and the Tampa team store.
In addition to the 23 giveaway dates the Rays announced this week, there may be additional promotions scheduled. Cogen said they were "optimistic" of scheduling several post-game concerts as well.
Limiting the thus-far announced promotions to Saturdays and Sundays is part of an organizational strategy to make "big games bigger," as the team appeared to opt for higher quality items and also plans to increase the entertainment options for the Sunday Family Fun Days.
The team will also have standing themed promotions for Monday-Fridays, with details expected next week.
