Rays spring invitee P Adam Reifer suspended 80 games
Free agent RHP Adam Reifer, who was in big-league camp with the Rays before being released, was suspended 80 game by Major League Baseball after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
Reifer, per MLB, tested positive for Ostarine, which is described as a selective androgen receptor modulator, provding steroids-like benefits.
Reifer, 29, spent last season pitching in Mexico. He had previously been in the Cardinals, Marlins and Giants organizations.
He pitched in four games for the Rays before being reassigned and then released.
