Rays win 5th straight, beat Jays 6-3, with 1 replay
The Rays rolled to their fifth straight spring win, beating the Jays 6-3 on Friday.
No. 2 starter Alex Cobb was sharp working into the fourth, and the Rays got homers from Kevin Kiermaier and minor-leaguer Cameron Seizter, whose dad was in the opposing dugout as Toronto's hitting coach.
This was the Rays first game with instant replay, and there was one challenge - by Toronto manager John Gibbons - on a play in the ninth at first base, and it was upheld, with the review taking about one minute.
RHP Nathan Karns was sharp in two innings for the Rays, and RHP Brandon Gomes showed off a new cutter he has been working on.
The Rays are back in Port Charlotte on Saturday to face the Pirates.
