It's obvious Joe Maddon is still a popular topic around Tampa Bay. I can tell that based on the passionate reaction to the last few stories I've written on Maddon, who left the Rays and is now managing the Cubs. Some of you still love him, and some clearly feel, shall we say, differently.

As the Cubs play this week to get to the World Series, tell us, in 25 or so words, if you're rooting for Maddon, or against him, and why. Post your comments on our Facebook page.

Among the early responses:

Betsy Marvin: Marvelous for Joe!! WIsh him the best and the WIN!!! We miss him but will always love him.

Peyton Lee: Good coach, but lost respect for him when he said one week that he was staying and left the next. We are better off with Cash anyway! #RaysUp

Marlene B Rubin: I am not over it. I think he ditched us for money he doesn't need. I hope the Cubs lose (which is sad because they are a team I would normally cheer for).

Joe Ebner: He did what most people do when presented with a better job opportunity, he took it. Best of luck Joe.

Louis Lukacsy: He gave the Rays all he had. Rays did not reciprocate. GET OVER IT.

Jared Cordes: Rays could find money for Grant Balfour and Ernesto Frieri but werent willing to pay Joe. Dont blame him for walking one bit. Sigh.

Wayne T Vance: It's a business. The Cubs spent money they have on coaching and players. Can't hate somebody for bettering themselves.

Beth Demo: Some managers say players stop listening after a few years. Wish him only success!

John Gillmore: How many times have we watched athletes and coaches move from our area to become champions? It's as though the Tampa Bay Area is an incubator.

Rico Suave: GREAT- Rays owners destroyed the team to save money n blame Joe - Real sad what they did

Sherrie Matthews: If not the best manager in baseball today then he is close to the top! Always support!

Brandon Jason Mason: Traitor

Sonny Foreman: NO future in TBay...had to leave..

Sam Wax: He made a good business decision. Still hate the Cubs and hope they get crushed.

Dave Raponi: Great manager and now has a team willing to spend some money . He grew tired of these shoe string budget

Dominic Korzecki: How can we get mad at Joe when Sternberg himself says that the Mets are his favorite team?

Jerry Tetro: The convergence of "our" Joe turning 60 and meditating on his Zen master's teachings, he decided this was time to do something memorable in "his" life. That would be to get the Cubs to the promised land. Promises of unlimited finances and a daily full house sealed the deal.

John Careccia: Joe Maddon cannot win the game

Kelly Guinn: I absolutely love Joe! It stung a little when he left, but I understand his reasons why. He brought years of fun and spoke to our Rays, left a substantial mark in the Tampa Bay Area and is just an all around stand up guy. I am definitely rooting for the Cubs!!!

Betsy Marvin: Marvelous for Joe!! WIsh him the best and the WIN!!! We miss him but will always love him.

Kathy Cioffi: Love Joe Maddon and definitely excited for him and the Cubs. It's sometimes hard to understand the game of baseball especially when it comes to trades and/or departures, but he deserves a ring, and I hope the Cubs can pull it off!

Lisa Carpus:
I think he's a traitor for leaving the Rays so abruptly, when just days before he said he was in it for the long haul. He did it for the $$$..... just have to wonder- how many millions does one person need???

William Myers: I wish Joe and the Cubs all the best. No hard feelings at all Joe!

Neal Desch: Joe is the best and I wish him and his new team the best.

Mike Marciano:
Rays did better with a worse roster this year without him and Theo deserves Cubs success not Joe.
