UPDATE, 1:49: Zobrist said he "tweaked" his back in the weight room on Wednesday and is only expected to miss a few days, confident he will be ready for the Feb. 28 exhibition opener. Manager Joe Maddon the training staff does not believe there to be anything serious.

Betemit's absence is visa-related, with no time frame for when he will arrive.

DEVELOPING: The Rays are wrapping up their first full-squad workout of the spring, and there was one bit of news right away: 2B Ben Zobrist was held out of the on-field drills due to tightness in his back.

Zobrist, who drove down from Tennessee with his family a few days ago, is likely to be limited for a few days, as the Rays will take precaution.

The highlight of the morning pop-up drills came when the team raced to the mound to mob David Price in mock celebration of a "no-hitter" as James Loney caught the last pop-up.
