UPDATE, 4:23: The Rays went on to beat the Twins 7-1.

Price said it couldn't have gone better, and it's probably the best he's felt in spring since 2009-10. Maddon said: "I don't think you can look any better.''

Jake McGee worked a clean inning in relief, as did Brandon Gomes, who now has made four appearances allowing just one hit and striking out six.

DEVELOPING: Rays ace LHP David Price had a solid five innings Tuesday against the Twins.

Price allowed one run (on a Jason Kubel home run) and two other hits, walked one and struck out eight, throwing 75 pitches (49 strikes).
