Tuesday game report: Rays blast Red Sox 8-0

The Rays won their third straight Tuesday, beating the Red Sox 8-0 in a game that took a regular-season-like 3 1/2 hours.

Chris Archer got the Rays off to a stong start, with two impressive innings, using only 21 pitches, including some work on his changeup.

Jake McGee mixed in several curveballs and was relatively pleased as well.

Sean Rodriguez hit a home run over the faux Green Monster, and James Loney also homered.

Among other highlights, was Rays C Jose Molina scoring from first and from second (as well as doubling), and pitching coach Jim Hickey filling in as bat boy for the first two innings,
