UPDATE, 9:24: The Rays medical report is more encouraging today, as both 2B Ben Zobrist and RHP Joel Peralta said their stiff necks have improved and they expect to play on Wednesday.

Zobrist, who was scratched from Saturday's lineup, said he will DH on Wednesday in Dunedin, planning to get four at-bats. Peralta, who tweaked his neck reacting to a comebacker on Saturday, said he will pitch in a minor-league game Wednesday in Port Charlotte.

Also pitching in minor-league games Wednesday will be RHP Alex Cobb and RHP Grant Balfour.
