UPDATE, 9:25: LHP Cesar Ramos said he thought of switching to starting when he heard about Jeremy Hellickson's elbow surgery, and when he brought it up found out team officials had been thinking the same thing. ... Prospect Mikie Mahtook is excited to get a start in RF today, though the timing could have been better - his mom and twin sisters had been here for five days but had to fly back to Louisiana this morning.

DEVELOPING: The Rays are back at the Charlotte Sports Park today to host the Yankees at 1:05.
