What was with Wil Myers' hair?
So what was with Wil Myers' hair during Monday night's MLB Network appearance?
The Rays rookie outfielder insisted even he didn't know, much less that he was aware it looked that bad.
"It didn't look like that when I got there,'' Myers said Tuesday. "I don't know what happened, I'm serious. I don't know if it was the lighting, or what. I did not make my hair look like that, I can tell you that right now. When I saw it on there, I couldn't believe it. Seriously, that was embarassing. And I don't say that much that I get embarrassed, but that was pretty embarrassing.''
Myers was shocked how popular a topic it became today, his photo displayed prominently on yahoo.com and a subject on conversation of several MLB Network shows. He said he got calls from MLB Network hosts Kevin Millar and Harold Reynolds asking him to take photos if he gets it cut Wednesday as he had tweeted.
But Tuesday night, Myers said he hadn't decided whether he was getting it cut. "I might, I don't know,'' he said. "I might not even do it (Wednesday). ... I might to do something crazy.''
RHP Chris Archer - after joking that he had actually seen Myers' hair look worse - suggested they both let their hair grow until spring training, and Myers said that was a possibility.
"I just think it's crazy,'' Myers said. "I did not see myself on the front page of Yahoo! Sports going into that interview (Monday) I can tell you that.''
Myers sported the shaggy look during the season, insisting he had not had a hair cut since spring training and had not used a brush.
