Wil Myers as .... Bamm-Bamm? That's what TBS analyst says

Rays manager Joe Maddon has gone cinematic in finding comparisons for rookie OF Wil Myers, mentioning both Nuke LaLoosh of Bull Durham fame and Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights.

Thursday, TBS analyst Ron Darling, drew a new one - to the Flintstones cartoon character Bamm-Bamm.

Asked on a playoffs conference call, Darling said:

"I watch him hit, no batting gloves, kind of old-school, he reminds of if Bamm-Bamm grew up, that's how he would hit. He kinds of just stands in there and dares you to throw it over the dish. He doesn't even follow through. He has this swing that just pounds it and it just takes off. In this day and age, where you have a lot of guys who have these grooved kind of perfect swings - get the head out, get the head of the bat to the ball, all these things that are teaching tools - Wil Myers seems to see it and hit it. I don't know, maybe because I'm old, I just like watching that.''
