Florida State football practice -- Day 2
Florida State hit the field Saturday morning, a quick turnaround after practicing for the first time on Friday night.
"I thought they handled it pretty doggone good,'' coach Bobby Bowden said after the 2 1/2 hour in sweltering heat.
The good news is the Seminoles have Sunday off (for media day, pictures and fan day), giving them roughly 45 hours between practice sessions.

For much of the spring and summer, the Seminoles' wide receiving corps was the source of so much uncertainty. Taiwan Easterling was coming from Achilles tendon surgery, while Richard Goodman, Bert Reed, Rod Owens and Cameron Wade all faced criminal charges. But Easterling has come back (a story on him is in the works so check back here on Sunday) and in the span of a mere days, Goodman, Reed and Owens all had their cases resolved. (Wade appears heading for trial on his misdemeanor battery charge next week).
Said offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher of how the receivers look today: "They’re out here and all that’s behind them. You know exactly what you’ve got so you know how you want to develop it and which way you want to go with it.''

As he does every year, Bowden said his seniors would join him for dinner at his house on Saturday. I'm still waiting for my invite.
