10 Days of Taylor: Our epic countdown to Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour at Raymond James Stadium

22

October

Welcome to Tampa, Taylor Swift. We’ve been waiting for you.

We’ve been waiting, in fact, since last Nov. 4, the day Swift announced her 1989 World Tour would end at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium on Halloween night. That’s 353 days ago. An eternity.

Back then, we all knew Swift’s album 1989, released one week earlier, was going to be huge. We didn’t know it was going to lead to arguably the biggest pop tour of all time.

To date, Swift has sold well over 1 million tickets to her 60 North American 1989 Tour dates, and is on pace to earn more than $100 million in 2015, according to Forbes. She’s trotted out a who’s who of A-list guest stars at more than half her stops, from Justin Timberlake to Mick Jagger to the Weeknd to the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. Just last night, she sang with Miranda Lambert in Greensboro, N.C.

It’s a staggering pop production, the likes of which few musicians anywhere in the world can even dream of pulling off, which explains why the Tampa Sports Authority was willing to shell out a guaranteed $2.75 million to book a tour stop at RayJay – and still, amazingly, expects to make a profit. These days, Tayor Swift is just that smart an investment.

Considering we may never see another tour like this – it is, after all, Swift’s final announced North American tour stop of 2015, and she has spoken of wanting to take a step back from the spotlight in 2016 – we decided the time is right to go all-in on T. Swifties.

And so today we kick off 10 Days of Taylor on Tampabay.com – an epic countdown to the epic finale of the most epic pop tour of all time.

From now through Halloween, we’ll roll out new Taylor features every day. In-depth of her music, her style, her baking, her Instagram. Photos and reviews from her previous Tampa Bay concerts. A comprehensive analysis of her 1989 Tour guests thus far, and some predictions for who we might see in Tampa. And some tips on how you, too, can actually meet Taylor. #LifeGoals!

Overkill, you say? Well, we always knew some haters were gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. For the next 10 days, they can all go hide away and find your peace of mind in some indie record that’s much cooler than hers.

But if you’re on board? Then check back here every morning for the latest in our 10 Days of Taylor spectacular. Catch up on what you’ve missed so far on this page. And be part of our coverage by using the hashtag #TaylorSquadTampa on Twitter and Instagram.

Our squad has their pens ready to click. We’ve got a 10-day blank space ahead of us. And we know just whose name we’re ready to write.
