We the Kings, GreyMarket, a new Plies single and more
-- Is a new We the Kings album in the works? Singer Travis Clark says so. "Everything so far is turning out amazing for the new record and we are only in the early stages!!," Clark writes on his blog, where he also posts lyrics to a new song called We'll Be a Dream. "I can’t wait to show everyone what I’ve been doing the past year and a half." The band is currently on tour in Europe; check out their latest podcasts on iTunes for an update.
-- Tampa band Betty's Not a Vitamin's pro-soldier/anti-war song The Answer is currently No. 6 on Neil Young's Living With War Today chart. "We are honored to have reached this high on Memorial Day with a song I wrote about the ultimate sacrifice that soldiers make," songwriter Todd Staudinger wrote on the band's Web site. (H/T to Julie for the find)
-- Vinyl Fever has a new Facebook app where you can give virtual gifts from their budget bin.
-- Singer Sean McPhee and Guitarist Ricky Carlton have left Central Florida modern rockers Cities Underground.
-- Tampa's GreyMarket just got the good news that they are officially opening for the Hold Steady next week at Jannus Landing. If you haven't picked up your tickets, do so now -- GreyMarket is lights-out live.
-- Congrats to Chris Dudley of Underoath and his wife, who on May 9 became new parents to one Madilyn Sailor Dudley.
-- Plies is dropping a new single, Becky, on June 19.
-- Another track has leaked from DJ Smallz and Laws' new mixtape, Your Future Favorite Rapper. Here's where you can download it. The mixtape drops June 12.
-- Speaking of DJ Smallz, dude has his own truck.
