Artist of the day: Have Gun, Will Travel
As we mentioned yesterday, Bradenton's Have Gun, Will Travel are releasing a new album, Postcards from the Friendly City, this weekend. They were a tbt* Ultimate Local Artist earlier this year, Blessing and a Curse, from their last album, attracted the attention of NPR.
The band started as a solo project by frontman Matt Burke, who recruited brother Danny (bass), J.P. Beaubien (drums), Joshua Hernandez (viola) and Scott Anderson (guitar) to round out the band. Their inviting alt-folksy sound has earned them plenty of fans within the Tampa Bay music scene.
The band plays a CD release show at 9 p.m. Saturday at New World Brewery in Ybor City. Click here for details.
